American Legion Magazine Feature on Treatment of PTSD
Appearing in the American Legion Magazine’s October edition, a new article describes the amazing results of HBO Therapy and the treatment of TBI & PTSD. The featured physician in the piece – Dr. Paul Harch – is a pioneer in the field and the treatment of TBI & PTSD with HBO Therapy. Dr. Harch is a friend and inspiration to HMS.

Autism Speaks Long Island Walk – October 2, 2011
Come join HMS in its participation in Autism Speaks’ annual Long Island walk held on October 2, 2011, at Jones Beach State Park. HMS will lead a team of walkers and also have a table in the resource tent to provide information to parents and other interested individuals about the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for individuals with autism.

Participation with Medicare and Medicaid
HMS is excited to announce its participation with Medicare and Medicaid. Within the coming weeks and months, HMS will be participating with other health plans / networks as well. Make sure to check out the Patient Resources page for an updated list of health plans HMS participates with. Please note HMS will bill out of network to all health plans in which it does not participate with.

NAVEL Expo 2011
HMS is thrilled to announce that its medical director, Dr. Henry Prince, will be a lecturer at the 2011 Navel (Nutrition Aesthetics Vitality Efficacy Life) Expo on November 6, 2011, at the Huntington Hilton in Melville, Long Island. HMS will also have an information and resource booth at the Expo. The event is open to the public and will highlight some of Long Island’s best wellness oriented physicians and medical practices.

New Research Review on Brain Injury and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
On September 6, 2011, in the popular on-line medical journal Medical Gas Research, researchers from Loma Linda University Medical Center published a comprehensive review of literature on the treatment of traumatic brain injury with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Titled Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Traumatic Brain Injury, the researchers concluded that the therapy may serve as a promising neuroprotective strategy and improve long-term outcomes for people suffering with TBI.

Proposal for Tourette Syndrome Study
HMS, together with Dr. Celine Paillot of North Fork Neuropsychology, is pleased to announce its application to the National Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA) for one of the TSA’s annual grants for the 2012-2013 grant cycle. In its application, HMS proposed to research the effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy on the phonic and motor tics associated with Tourette syndrome. HMS will be notified about the status of its application later this fall.
